HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Catonsville came into the game struggling to field a full team and ultimately was forced to play with just five players; one of which was playing injured and stayed on the defensive half the whole game.
  • With just four players on the offensive side, the Cardinals were forced to fire up a plethora of forced shots.
  • Harford came out firing in the first quarter before cooling off in the second.
  • A dominant third quarter for the Fighting Owls helped put the game out of reach as the bench was emptied to finish out the game.
  • Adrienne Jones came off the bench to lead the team with 16 points including four from behind the arc.
  • Dominique Walker chipped in her 6th double-double of the season with a typical 12 points, 10 rebound game.
  • With the Cardinals packing in a tight defense, Harford shot 32 three point shots, 12 of which were converted.
  • Danielle Durjan continued to take on more point guard opportunities, tallying 7 assists in the game along with a couple of three pointers.

GAME QUOTES AND NOTES:
  • Head Coach Mike Seney: "It's always good to come out with a win. We definitely want to continue to get better; away from home we tend to fall off a bit. We have a tough road game on Saturday; hopefully we come out and play the right way."
  • Sophomore forward Dominique Walker: "I think we played hard, offensively and defensively. There are some things that we have to work on for next game, like keeping on the attack regardless of the score. But it was definitely a learning experience."
  • Freshman guard Adrienne Jones: "We executed our plays, we made our shots and got all of our teammates involved."
  • With the referees calling an open game, the Fighting Owls shot just two free throws in the entire game with Therese Gilmore making both of them.
  • Dahnye Redd's recent surge has her averaging a double-double for the year (11.4 PPG, 10.0 RPG). She finished the game with 12 points and 8 rebounds.
  • Daisa Harris failed to score in the double-digits for just the third time this season.

UP NEXT:
  • Harford will hit the road again on Saturday, January 14th for a 1 pm matinee at Cecil College.
  • The Seahawks are 11-3 on the season and are 5th in the conference at 4-2 having only lost to Baltimore City and Montgomery.
