HOW IT HAPPENED
  • This game was the Daisa Harris show from start to finish as she scored 21 points in the first half on her way to breaking her career high for points in a game with a 40 point performance.
  • Despite the final score looking lopsided, the game was still in question late in the second quarter with the Raptors down 39-30.
  • The Fighting Owls suffocated the Raptors with a very effective full court press,
  • Harford finished the first half on a 12-0 run thanks to a pair of Danielle Durjan three pointers in transition as well as a couple of Dahnye Redd layups.
  • Comfortably ahead 51-30 at halftime, Harris took over the third quarter as Harford continued to pull away from the hosts.
  • Dominique Walker showed off her range of skills in the final stanza, scoring 6 of her 10 points.

GAME QUOTES AND NOTES:
  • Head Coach Mike Seney: "We didn't start the way we would have liked which forced me to call an early timeout. Hopefully on Saturday against Garrett, we can come out firing from the start and play the way we need to four 40 minutes. To say that Daisa Harris was excellent tonight is an understatement. Her play got everyone else going in the early game. Danielle Durjan started to hit some shots and our bench came in and gave us great minutes.
  • Sophomore guard Daisa Harris: "Heart over height. I played my game, I dint let them stop me no matter who was in the way. Our defense wasn't perfect, but we knew we had them figured out, even though they scored more than we thought they should. Scoring 40 points today felt amazing, but I feel like I could do that every game."
  • Sophomore guard Danielle Durjan: "I feel like we could have done a better job defensively but we played hard as a team. I feel like our mindset should be to fix mistakes. Daisa did a great job scoring the basketball. I feel like we still have a lot to accomplish this season; it's great where we are right now but we can't get comfortable or content."
  • Harris' previous high in a game was 32 which she has achieved twice. Harris had broken that halfway through the 3rd quarter and was pulled from the game with 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter as the game was well in hand.
  • Walker picked up her 8th double-double for the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

UP NEXT:
  • Harford won't have much time to rest as they get back on the road to take on Garrett College on Saturday, January 28th at 3 PM.
  • The Lakers are 16-1 on the season and are currently in 2nd place with an 8-1 conference record with their lone conference loss coming against Montgomery.
