 HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Fighting Owls entered the regional championship game as heavy favorites to win, but found a hard time scoring in the first 20 minutes of the game despite dominating possession.
  • Finally the breakthrough occurred when Mackenzie Forsythe's cross found Mackenzie Wills who slammed it home from close range.
  • Essex shockingly tied the game in the 27th minute on a Christina Polsinelli shot to give the Knights' fans hope of an upset.
  • It took just two minutes for Harford to regain the lead as Rachel Bohli plastered a left footed shot from outside the box into the top corner of the net.
  • Harford struck again 30 seconds later as Alexandria Adams stole the ball away and hit a great through ball to Forsythe to douvle the lead.
  • Wills scored on another Forsythe cross followed by two more Bohli goals for a comfortable 6-1 halftime lead.
  • It was more of the same in the second half as Briana Stabile set up Adams for her 20th goal of the season as she marks the fourth Fighting Owl with 20 or more goals this season.
  • Rachel Bohli continued to steal the show as she scored two more in the last seven minutes with her fifth and final goal being a masterful chip over the Essex goalkeeper to cap the scoring.
  • Harford saw five players make the All-Tournament team including Briana Stabile, Rachel Bohli, Emily Doleschal, Mackenzie Wills and Alexandria Adams.

UP NEXT
  • Harford will await the winner of the Region 10 tournament to know who they will face in the District L championship at Harford Stadium on either November 3 or 4.
  • The winner of that game earns a trip to the NJCAA National Tournament in Melbourne, Fla.
