 HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Fighting Owls entered the 2017-18 season with high expectations and even higher hopes after a landmark season last year.
  • Harford did not disappoint as they jumped out to a 16-0 lead, holding the Riverhawks scoreless over the first eight minutes of the game.
  • Led by new point guard/field general Shawnkia McCallum, Harford showed off the high flying fast paced offense that has become the trademark of the women's basketball program including 21 first half fast break points.
  • Sophomore star forward Dahnye Redd earned a first half double-double and led all players with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Freshman Jewel Porter was right behind Redd as the forward recorded a double-double in her first collegiate game with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Adrienne Jones knocked down a trio of treys and also scored 11 points as the Harford scoring was spread out nicely with 12 different players scoring points.
  • Most impressive was the Harford defense that forced Anne Arundel into 43 turnovers including 25 Fighting Owl steals while holding Anne Arundel to a 16.4 FG%.

UP NEXT
