  • The Short Story: The Fighting Owls worked their way out of a tough start as they rode a dominant second quarter and were able to cruise to a comfortable win.

 HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Harford fell behind 7-2 early in the game which forced coach Seney to call a timeout.
  • The timeout had the desired effect as the Fighting Owls went on a big run to work their way up to an 18-10 lead after the first quarter.
  • The second quarter was a different story as Harford outscored their opponents 34-9 in an impressive 10 minutes of play.
  • Adrienne Jones came out of the halftime break on fire, hitting a trio of three pointers on her way to a season high 17 points in the game including five from long range.
  • Shawnkia McCallum continued to show off her wizardry with the ball in her hands, finishing the contest with 13 assists along with seven points and six rebounds.
  • Dahnye Redd was her normal dominating self with a 17 point, 21 rebound performance that included 10 offensive rebounds.
  • Ryan Holder showed off all her skills once again with 18 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, three steals and two blocks.
  • Destinee McQueen added 11 points, eight rebounds and five steals to the Harford cause while the Harford bench tallied 42 points led by Joy Morton with nine and Alexis Moore with eight.
  • Shantel McCray-Cheeks and Jewel Porter each pulled down double digit rebounds as the Harford depth at the forward position continues to be a big strength of the team.
UP NEXT
  • Harford will return home to play Chesapeake on Tuesday, December 5 at 5 PM for another conference game.
  • The Chesapeake Skipjacks are 2-2 this season and 1-1 in conference play with wins against Southern Maryland and Howard along with losses to Harcum and Cecil.
