 HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After a week hiatus between games, the Fighting Owls started the game in fine form as they jumped out to a 12-0 lead to start the game with Dahnye Redd scoring seven of those 12.
  • The outlook of the game changed significantly when Redd went down with a lower body injury just two minutes into the game as Chesapeake crawled their way back to trailing by just one point midway through the second quarter.
  • With the Skipjacks giving Harford their first gut check of the season, it was Ryan Holder who put the team on her back with a phenomenal all-around performance; finishing the game with 16 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, five blocks and four steals before fouling out late in the fourth quarter.
  • Adrienne Jones continued to do her job as a primary scorer on the team, with 18 points on 7-14 shooting from the floor including a couple of long three pointers.
  • Shawnkia McCallum continued her vital role as the distributor, as she finished with eight assists and 13 points and currently sits in second place in the conference with 7.4 assists per game.
  • Harford scored 46 points in the paint; 32 of those on fast break layups compared to 22 and 8 respectively for Chesapeake.
UP NEXT
  • Harford will stay in the friendly confines of the APGFCU Arena as they host Monroe College on Thursday, December 7 at 5 PM.
  • The Monroe Mustangs are 6-4 on the season including a thrilling 69-68 victory over Baltimore City over the weekend.
  • The Fighting Owls will look to avenge last year's district championship game that Monroe won 68-57.
