HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The first half was not the best for the Fighting Owls as they shot just 37% from the floor and held a 10 point lead at the break despite shooting almost twice as many shots as the Nighthawks.
  • Daisa Harris led the charge for Harford in the first half, scoring 14 of her 23 points in the opening 20 minutes.
  • NOVA started the third quarter with a lot of energy, cutting the Harford lead to 44-39.
  • That would be the last time the Nighthawks threatened the lead as subsequent baskets by Harris, Joy Morton, Durjan, Dominique Walker, and Adrienne Jones sparked a 26-2 run that put the game out of reach.
  • Danielle Durjan was absolutely scorching in the fourth quarter, scoring 16 points in the final 10 minutes of the game including a trio of treys on her way to a season high 28 points.
GAME QUOTES AND NOTES:
  • Head Coach Mike Seney: "I felt like we missed a lot of defensive assignments; didn't communicate well at all in the first half and the beginning of the third quarter. Then we really started to buckle down and get stops which allowed us to run the court which is what we do best. Danielle and Daisa were just fantastic all night long. When both are rolling like that we are very difficult to beat."
  • Sophomore guard Danielle Durjan: "Today was just the tale of two halves. I feel like we came out a little sluggish in the first half, but after that we picked it up tremendously and finished the right way. It was a great team effort."
  • Durjan was a menace at both sides of the court, adding 7 assists, 7 steals, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks to her 28 points.
  • Four Fighting Owls scored in double figures with Dominique Walker and Adrienne Jones each scored 13 points to join Harris and Walker.
  • Joy Morton pulled down a season high 12 rebounds as she continues too get more minutes as the season progresses.
  • Freshman forward Dahnye Redd missed her third straight game as she continues to heal up for the conference tournament.

  • Going into the tournament as the #1 seed after a perfect 13-0 regular season conference record, the Fighting Owls will take on #8 seed Catonsville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 16.
