HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Harford knew going into the game that Monroe had a lot of size and that tough defense was essential to stay with a team like Monroe.
  • Isaiah White and Dom Keyes both took this to heart as White swatted four blocks in the game while Keyes added three more in his piant battle.
  • Micah TIll struggled to make an impact early except for a ground shaking dunk midway through the first half to give Harford a 10-6 lead.
  • Martin Kelly hit a three pointer on the next possession as Harford jumped out to an early six point lead with momentum.
  • The two teams exchanged leads for much of the first half with Mychal Stefanides making a late first half lay-up to cut Monroe's lead to 32-29 at halftime.
  • Dom Keyes continued to be a crucial fighter in the paint as he earned a double-double early in the second half and finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds.
  • Stefanides sinks a big three pointer giving Harford the lead over Monroe at 46-43 with 10:56 left in the second half.
  • Mychal Stefanides continued to attack the Mustangs basket as he scored an easy lay-up thanks to a great Micah Till pass to give Harford a 55-50 lead with just three minutes left.
  • Monroe went on a 7-0 run to take a two point lead with just a minute left to play.
  • The Mustangs had control with just 30 seconds left when Harford executed a fantastic half-court press and Trent McCallum came up with his fifth steal of the game to keep Harford's hopes alive.
  • Coach Smelkinson called a timeout with five seconds left to draw up the play, but the ensuing Micah Till three point shot was just a little bit off to end the Fighting Owls season in dramatic fashion.
GAME NOTES
  • Mychal Stefanides, Dom Keyes and Micah Till tied for the team lead with 12 points in the game.
  • Leading the team in rebounds was Keyes with 13, Till with 9, and Juanir Moore with 5.
  • Trent McCallum came up with 5 big steals in the game, but unfortunately fell just five steals short of the Harford record for most steals in a season.
