  • The Short Story: The Harford baseball team got healthy boost to their offensive numbers in a comfortable 31-2 victory in a mercy-rule shortened game.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Delaware County scored a couple of runs in the top of the first thanks to a costly error in the field.
  • After that, it was all Harford as the boys in blue scored 9 runs in the bottom of the second with another 19 more in the third as the first three innings took over two hours to complete.
  • After a few more runs were scored in the fourth and fifth, the Fighting Owls claimed victory in a run-rule shortened game.
  • Harford hit six home runs with a couple of them coming from Ryan Shinn.
  • Peyton Sorrels, Shawn Nickles, Luke Johnson, and Tanner Forry added to the home run parade.
  • Shinn finished the impressive game at 4-4 with 7 RBIs and 3 runs in his best game of the year.
  • Sorrels went 3-4 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs while Johnson was 3-4 with 3 RBI and 4 runs.
  • Frankie Frashcetti picked up his first win of the year going four innings with zero earned runs and six strikeouts.
  • Tre Wilson pitched the last three innings giving up just one hit with five strikeouts.

UP NEXT

  • Harford will start their conference schedule with a trip to Cecil College on Thursday, March 9 at 3 PM.
  • The Seahawks are 4-9 on the season and 3-0 in conference play with wins over Southern Maryland and CCBC Catonsville.
