Harford Wins Conference Opener at Cecil

  • The Short Story: The Harford baseball team started their conference regular season schedule with a resounding victory as the bats continue to be on fire.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Fighting Owls got on the scoreboard early thanks to an RBI double by Adam Rapp in the first inning.
  • After Harford scrounged another run in the top of the second, Cecil hit a two-run homer in the bottom to tie the game.
  • That is when the boys in blue took over the game with a big eight run fourth highlighted by a John Mastrangelo three-run jack.
  • Cecil got back three in the bottom of the fifth with another two-run home run.
  • The Fighting Owls put the game away for good in the sixth with another six runs being tacked on including a Tanner Forry three run bomb as Harford finished the game with 17 runs on 14 hits.

UP NEXT

  • Harford will face another conference foe with a trip to Southern Maryland on Saturday, March 11 at 11 AM.
  • The Hawks are 2-5 on the season and 0-3 in conference play with losses to Cecil and Chesapeake.
