HOW IT HAPPENED

GAME 1

  • The Fighting Owls jumped out to an early 7-0 start in the first two innings.
  • Harford's big five run rally in the first inning was led by a 2 RBI single from Emily Wikane, an RBI triple by Julia Gatch, and a Samantha Koga RBI single.
  • In the second inning, Lindsey Bowler and Alexis Valentine both scored on a Caroline Frank shot to center field that was mishandled by the Cougars fielder.
  • Harford was shut out the rest of the game, but pitcher Emily Bowler was able to hold off the Cougars with her six strikeouts to pick up her third win of the season.
GAME 2
  • The night cap was called early due to darkness, but not before the Fighting Owl bats came alive for a comfortable 12-1 victory.
  • Harford scored six runs in a big sixth inning rally that may have continued if not for the lack of daylight.
  • Eight of the nine Harford starters in the line-up picked up hits led by Lindsey Bowler hitting 3-4 with a trio of runs scored.
  • Samantha Znamirowski went 2-4 with 4 RBIs as she continues to slug in the heart of the Harford order.
  • Alexis Valentine went 2-4 with 2 RBIs in the lead-off spot of the line-up and also pitched 5 innings, giving up just three hits and one run with a pair of strikeouts.
UP NEXT
