Fighting Owls Earn Big Sweep Over Hagerstown

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1
 

  • Michael Devecchio threw a complete game two-hitter giving up a single rin in the fourth inning, needing just 84 pitches to get through the game with three strikeouts and just two walks.
  • Adam Rapp got things going in the first inning with a two-RBI double.
  • Ryan Shinn hit a massive three-run home run in the sixth inning that really put the game away.
  • CJ Lopez went 3-4 on the day, Peyton Sorrels had a 2-5 and Tre Todd added four walks.

GAME 2

  • Tim Kranz moved to 7-0 on the year as he relieved Will Reed who was forced to leave the game after the second inning due to a pitch count.
  • Kranz pitched three innings with four strikeouts and no walks while allowing three unearned runs.
  • Reid Frazier picked up his third save of the year as he closed out the game with a scoreless seventh inning.
  • Peyton Sorrels continued his hot streak with a 3-3 day including a couple of doubles and a triple as well as an important sacrifice fly in the seventh inning to bring in an insurance run.
  • Sorrels doubled in the first and later scored on a Ryan Shinn sac fly in the first.
  • The third inning was started by a CJ Lopez double who then scored on a Nick Atkinson RBI double followed by an RBI triple by Sorrels.
  • After Hagerstown tied the game at 3-3 in the fourth, Harford got the lead back in the fifth on back-to-back doubles by Sorrels and Shinn.


UP NEXT 

  • Harford will travel to Rowan-Gloucester on Wednesday, April 12 for a 4 PM game.
  • The Roadrunners are 24-4 on the year and have yet to play a Region 20 team so far this season.
