HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Starting pitcher Will Reed was phenomenal as he went 7.1 innings with 10 strikeouts including a stretch of six consecutive strike outs and held Potomac State without a hit for five consecutive innings.
  • Harford trailed 3-0 after the top of the second, but a CJ Lopez RBI single through the right side of the infield scored Adam Rapp in the bottom half.
  • John Mastrangelo took the first pitch of the bottom half of the fourth inning over the right field fence for his ninth of the season to cut the Potomac State lead in half.
  • Shawn Nickles, who reached base in four of his five at bats, lead off the sixth inning with a line drive single to right field.
  • Tre Todd was up next and he crushed a home run to deep right center to give Harford their first lead of the game at 4-3.
  • Peyton Sorrels kept the sixth inning rally going with a single up the middle then scored when Ryan Shinn roped a double down the left field line to double the Harford lead.
  • The Catamounts got a run back in the top of the eighth inning, but Harford responded back by loading up the bases with no outs.
  • Adam Rapp popped up, but a Ronnie Krsolovic RBI walk and a CJ Lopez 2 RBI single put Harford up 8-4.
  • Closer Reid Frazier allowed the Catamounts to load up the bases in the top of the ninth, but didn't allow any runs to score as he struck out the Catamounts hitter to end the game.
