HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Harford put the pressure on early as Victor Prado dribbled down the left side where he was tripped in the box to earn a penalty kick that Antonio Savi coolly slotted into the bottom left corner.
  • Finger Lakes answered back with some pressure of their own which culminated in a goal at the 30 minute mark to tie up the game.
  • Harford dominated the last 10 minutes of the first half including a couple of close shots by Eder Arcanjo and a free kick by Jason Stump that was barely palmed away by the Lakers goalkeeper.
  • The Fighting Owls continued that momentum into the second half and the payoff came six minutes after the intermission when a 50 yard through ball by Stump was collected by Savi who found the back of the net for the second time.
  • Harford doubled their lead four minutes later when Savi dribbled to the end line and then squared to Prado in the middle of the box for his first goal in a Harford uniform.
  • With the Fighting Owls building a lead, coach Muffoletto rotated the lineup including the debut of Pedro Vilela who hit a long ball over the top of the Lakers defensive line that Corey Alt raced onto and got around the keeper to score his first of the season.
