  • The Short Story: The Fighting Owls rebounded from a hard fought overtime loss less than 24 hours prior to dominate their opponents in a game where they did not allow a single shot in the 90 minutes.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Mackenzie Wills got Harford started early, scoring her second and third goals of the season in the first 30 minutes of the game; the first on an Alecia Rotunno assist.
  • Grace Humes scored just five minutes later on a Kasie Lambert assist and Alexandria Adams scored on a great give-and-go with Wills just two minutes after that.
  • Kassidy Webster scored from close range on a Lambert for her first of two goals for the game.
  • It was Webster's second goal that stole that show when Jacklyn Barbon, making her season debut, sent in a low cross from the left side that Webster volleyed into the net with a back heel for a highlight reel goal.
  • Adams scored her second of the game and her fifth for the season thanks to an Alison Beers assist to close out the scoring for the Fighting Owls.
GAME NOTES
  • This was the first meeting between Harford and Finger Lakes in the modern era of Harford athletics.
  • Harford now leads the NJCAA Division I with 22 goals while Adams leads the nation with five goals,11 points and 22 shots.
  • The Fighting Owls outshot the Lakers 49-0 as Harford goalkeeper Crystal Kline was a mere spectator for the entire contest.
  • Kassidy Webster led the front line for Harford in this contest with nine shots, seven of which were on goal,
UP NEXT
  • Harford will get a little time to rest before hosting Sussex County on Friday, September 1 at 12 PM as a segue to the Labor Day weekend.
  • The Skylanders were 10-5 in the 2016 season and will be playing their season opener at Harford.
