 HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Harford began the first of five consecutive conference matches against a Howard team that is perennially a contender for the conference championship.
  • Despite dominating possession and scoring opportunities, the Fighting Owls were frustratingly scoreless over the quarter of the match.
  • The breakthrough finally occurred with Rachel Bohli set Briana Stabile on a breakaway thanks to an effective counter attack and coolly put the ball into the back of the net.
  • Bohli took matters into her own foot just three minutes later when she caught onto a Kasie Lambert pass and nailed a shot from 20 yards out that went over the outstretched hands of the Dragons goalkeeper.
  • Lambert scored just six seconds before the halftime buzzer when Mackenzie Forsythe set her free in the middle of the box for a point blank goal.
  • Jacklyn Barbon closed out the scoring 15 minutes into the second half when Bohli put in a beautiful through ball that Barbon nailed off the bottom of the crossbar and into the goal for her second of the season.
  • The back four of Emily Doleschal, Emily Raulie, Alecia Rotunno and Kassie Dieter along with cameos from Ali Cataggio and Kayla Raivel was so dominant that the Dragons did not record a single shot in the contest.
  • Goalkeeper Crystal Kline recorded her eighth shutout in 10 games despite playing a very small role in the contest.

UP NEXT
  • Harford will look to continue their positive momentum in a road game to CCBC Catonsville on Saturday, September 23 at 12 PM.
  • The Cardinals are 0-4 on the season and 0-3 in the conference with losses to Howard, Hagerstown and Montgomery. The hapless Cardinals have yet to score a goal in the four games they have played although this match will be the home opener for Catonsville.
