 HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Harford went up against a winless Catonsville team who used the unique strategy of keeping all 11 players in their own goal box to prevent Harford from having any where to shoot the ball.
  • The strategy worked for a time as the Fighting Owls were held scoreless for the first 37 minutes until they finally broke through when Grace Humes scored on a Rachel Bohli cross.
  • With a 1-0 lead after the intermission, captain Alexandria Adams came out with a stunner early in the second half that went into the top corner off a Kasie Lambert pass.
  • Bohli turned scorer a few minutes later when a Jacklyn Barbon pass to the top of the box was smashed in from 20 yards away.
  • Kassidy Webster put in a perfect cross that Mackenzie Forsythe headed into the goal as the Fighting Owls found the key to unlock the Cardinals defense.
  • Adams scored her second on a nice give-and-go with Briana Stabile for her first of two assists, the second coming on a cross that Mackenzie Wills finished off to cap the Harford scoring.
  • The Fighting Owls out-shot their opponents 30-1 and forced the Catonsville goalkeeper into 16 saves.

UP NEXT
  • Harford will get a bit of a break before returning to the field to host Southern Maryland on Friday, September 29 at 5 PM.
  • The Hawks are 1-1-1 this season with a 2-1 win against Montgomery along with a 2-2 tie versus Hagerstown and a 5-1 loss against Howard.
