Bel Air, Md. – The Harford Fighting Owls saw their first action inside the APGFCU Arena of the 2018-19 season, defeating the Monroe College Mustangs 88-64, Wednesday.
Despite struggling from distance, Harford went up early in the contest and remained there for the entire night. The ladies in blue found much of their success in the paint, as 46 of their 88 points would come from inside the three-point line.
A strong second quarter performance allowed to Fighting Owls to go into the half with a 50-31 lead. Monroe performed much better in the final two quarters, but by that point the game was well in hand thanks to
Dahnye Redd's 14 points and
Elaija DeMeza's 10 in the last 20 minutes.
Redd once again led Harford in most statistical categories, finishing with 23 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and three steals. This is her second double-double in as many games.
