Fighting Owls Soar Past Hagerstown, 104-54

Hagerstown, Md. – The #22 Harford Fighting Owls returned to the hardwood after a seven-day layoff to face the Hagerstown Hawks on Wednesday night, cruising to a 104-54 victory over their conference foe.

Harford moves to 10-0 (5-0 Md Juco) with the win, while Hagerstown falls to 7-5 (3-4 Md Juco).

Turning Point
A pair of long runs in the opening two quarters put Harford in the driver's seat early in contest.

The first would come in final six minutes of the opening quarter, during which Harford outscored the Hawks 17-7 to go up 25-11. 

The ladies in blue would continue their hot streak into the second quarter, going on a 15-3 tear in the first seven minutes to pull away from Hagerstown for good.

Games Notes
  • After capturing both the NJCAA Div. I Player of the Week and Md Juco Conference Player of the Month awards this week, Harford forward Dahnye Redd earned her 10th straight double-double with a 26-point, 14 rebound performance. Redd leads all NJCAA players in both categories.
  • Ayanna Mazyck also impressed on the evening, chipping in 20 points and seven rebounds.
  • Harford's bench ruled the night, outscoring Hagerstown 30-11.
  • The Fighting Owls reached the century mark in points for the sixth time this season.
  • Harford now holds 71 straight wins over conference opponents.
