Blowout Victory Clinches Title

  • The Short Story: The Fighting Owls would dominate the Dragons on both sides of the floor en route to a sixth straight regular season conference championship. With the win Harford head coach Mike Seney captured his 63 straight victory against conference opponents in his career.

 HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Harford would jump out to an early 16-0 lead highlighted by Adrienne Jones 6 points and a pair of jumpers from Ryan Holder.
  • The Fighting Owls showed off their defensive prowess in the second quarter by holding Howard to just six shots while grabbing 11 steals.
  • Shantel McCray-Cheek would lead all scorers with 13 points at the half, with Jones contributing 11 points and Joy Morton putting up seven.
  • Howard would show signs of life in the third quarter, shooting 5-11 from the field including a 6-0 run.
  • Harford proved to be too much in the final 10 minutes, ending the game on an 18-5 run fueled off of three straight jumpers from Alexis Moore and two makes from beyond the arc by Francesca Vanegas.
  • Moore would earn her first collegiate double-double while producing career highs in points (18) and rebounds (11).  
  • Morton would add 14 points to the cause along with nine boards. Jones and McCray-Cheek would both contribute 13 points.
UP NEXT
  • After a nine day layoff, the Fighting Owls will finish their season with three games in a four day stretch. Harford will start out on the road with contests against Monroe Bronx on February 10 and Lackawanna College on February 12. They will return home for their final regular season contest against Northern Virginia on February 14.
  • Monroe is 6-10 on the season and 6-8 in conference play. They will take on Essex College and Dutchess College before the Fighting Owls head to New York.
