HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Howard jumped ahead 4-2 early in the game as the Dragons were looking to face down their first real test of the season after losing in the national championship game in 2017.
  • Returning All-American Nina Urban answered back with two straight goals to tie the score up before Howard scored three in a row to jump back ahead.
  • Urban scored her fourth of the game to stop the Dragons run and swing momentum back to Harford.
  • Fellow All-American Courtney Poole scored three goals late in the first half, the second of which was assisted on a nifty pass by Cidney Gray to give the Fighting Owls a 10-9 lead at halftime.
  • The Dragons scored first out of the break just a minute into the second half to tie the game at 10-10.
  • After that, the game was all Harford as the ladies in blue scored 11 of the next 12 goals in an incredible 30 minutes of play.
  • Poole finished the game with seven goals and Urban tallied six while freshmen Rachel Wilson scored five and Bethany Bishop added a hat trick with a couple of assists.
  • The Harford defense was once again dominant, especially in the second half as the fearsome foursome of Gray, Natalie Neff, Kiley Hartsell and Mckenzi Cox shut down the Dragons.
  • Harford dominated the draw controls 20-13 with Gray and Wilson each grabbing six with Gray also adding four ground balls to the cause.
