  • The Short Story: The Fighting Owls picked up a couple of comfortable conference victories in a pair of run rule shortened games.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1
  • The Fighting Owls got off to a roaring start despite a 10 day layoff between games due to weather.
  • Harford scored 10 runs in the first inning highlighted by a two RBI double by Olivia Gallimore and a two RBI double by Alexis Mack.
  • Montgomery hit a two run home run in the bottom half of the first, but Harford responded with RBI hits by Gallimore and Lindsay Bowler to extend the lead back to 10.
  • Emily Bowler drove in Mack on a double followed by a two RBI triple by Caroline Frank to make it a 17-2 Harford lead.
  • Alexis Valentine took control from there, as she pitched five innings with eight strikeouts and giving up just three hits and a lone walk to pick up the win.
GAME 2
  • Alexis Mack hit got the Fighting Owls on the board in the first inning with an RBI single that Montgomery answered with a couple of runs to take a 2-1 lead.
  • Harford came back with six in the top of the second including RBI singles by Savannah Meyers and Chloe Moyer along with a two RBI double by Caroline Frank.
  • Olivia Gallimore hit her first collegiate home run in the top of the third to give Harford a solid 8-3 lead after three innings.
  • The Fighting Owl bats continued to stay hot with a Meyers RBI triple and a Gallimore RBI double to make it 10-3.
  • Erica James doubled down the left line to score Emily Bowler and then scored on a Meyers RBI single in the fifth inning to close out the scoring for another five inning game.
  • E. Bowler pitched a solid five innings, giving up just two hits with five strikeouts to get the win.
UP NEXT
  • Harford will travel to New Jersey to take on Rowan College of Burlington County on Thursday, March 29 at 3:00 PM.
  • The Barons are 3-9 on the season but are coming off a double header sweep over Ocean County.
