  • The Short Story: The Fighting Owls avenged their shocking loss to the lions from earlier in the season with a mercy rule shortened game, highlighted by four Harford home runs including a Nick Delp grand slam to end the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Fighting Owls fell behind 1-0 in the top of the first, but that was quickly erased by four Harford runs in the bottom half including a Ryan Calhoun two run homer.
  • Joey Schwartz hit a solo shot in the bottom of the second and Spencer Smith hit his team leading eighth home run of the year for a three run bomb to put Harford ahead 8-1 after two innings.
  • Dundalk scrapped together a couple of runs in the third and fourth innings, but the Nick D'Amore's RBI double made it a 9-3 lead after six.
  • With the Fighting Owls up 10-3 in the bottom of the eighth, Nick Delp stepped up with the bases loaded and ripped a line drive over the center field wall for a walk off grand slam.
  • Trevor Sprinkle improved to 3-0 on the year, going six innings with eight strikeouts followed by Jack Slade pitching two solid innings, giving up one hit and no runs with a couple of strikeouts.
UP NEXT
  • Harford will travel to Chesapeake College on Friday, March 30 at 12:00 PM for a big conference doubleheader.
  • The Skipjacks are first in the conference at 6-0 and are 19-3 overall to start the season with the doubleheader likely to have a major impact on the race for a conference championship this year.
