Fighting Owls Season Ends at Regional Tournament

  • Final Score: #3 seeded Harford Fighting Owls 68 - #2 seeded Baltimore City Panthers 84
  • Records: Harford 23-8 | Baltimore City 19-11

  • The Short Story: The Fighting Owls struggled in the paint against an over-sized Panthers team as Harford's fantastic season came to an abrupt end. Evason Ogbonna led the team in scoring for a second consecutive game, but the Fighting Owls' rebounding woes proved too much to overcome.

 HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Isaiah Boggs showed off his patented driving ability early in the game, making a couple of layups and getting to the free throw line as he scored nine points on the day.
  • After point guard Khalil-Williams Diggins picked up two early fouls, the scoring impetus fell to others as Evason Ogbonna helped pick up the slack with a couple of early three pointers on his way to a 14 point game.
  • Harford found themselves in foul trouble for much of the game as they played with just an eight man rotation which resulted in Martin Kelly Jr., DeZ Brown and Ogbonna all fouling out in the second half.
  • Malik Jones chipped in 12 points on the day along with four assists with Kelly Jr. Scoring 11.
  • Baltimore City out-rebounded the Fighting Owls 48-19 with the Panthers' Ed Oliver-Hampton scoring 26 points and grabbing 16 rebounds.
UP NEXT
  • Harford will be forced to say good bye to an incredible sophomore class that includes some student-athletes that are seemingly irreplaceable.
  • The Fighting Owls' future still looks bright as they will look to return an excellent back court and now hit the recruiting trail on the back of a regular season and postseason conference championship.
