The Short Story: The Fighting Owls were unable to repeat their magic from the tournament semifinals as a big first quarter whole was too deep to dig out of.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Harford fell behind early as the Dragons went ahead 8-0 in the first quarter and were up 9-0 before Reece Wiseman put Harford on the board three minutes into the second quarter.
Chandler Schmidt scored on a Grady Dipeso assist two minutes later, but the Dragons would rattle off the next five goals to really put the game out of reach.
Harford finished strong in the third quarter and Wiseman and Schmidt each scored their second goals of the game, but the Dragons still led 15-4 going into the final period.
The Fighting Owls fought back late with five goals in the final five minutes of the game as Wiseman and Schmidt each finished their hat tricks along with goals by Jeff Otenasek, Connor Davies and Dipeso to show the Dragons that Harford wasn't going to go down without a fight.
Ultimately, the rally was too little too late and Howard won their second consecutive Region 20 championship.

UP NEXT:

Harford will now have to wait and hope for an at-large bid into the national tournament, which appears likely after Harford's huge win over Anne Arundel in the regional semifinals.
