HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
  • The two teams traded two-run home runs and were tied 2-2 heading into the third.
  • Hagerstown made it 3-2 in the top of the inning but Nick Rowland's solo shot to center field sparked an eight-run third for Harford to give them a 10-3 lead.
  • After Andrew Wenner's double cut Harford's advantage to 10-4, the Fighting Owls would plate eight runs for the second straight inning off home runs from Nick Delp, Michael Richardson and Nehemiah Wright.
  • The Hawks attempted to stave off being mercy ruled in the top of the fifth, scoring two runs before Harford ended the rally to win 18-6.
  • Frankie Fraschetti (3-2) picked up the win on the mound, striking out four in as many innings.
  • Rowland finished with a 3-3 day at the plate with Richardson, Delp and Joey Schwartz contributing two hits each to the cause

Game 2
  • Wenner collected his fourth hit of the game for Hagerstown, as his RBI double gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead in the first.
  • The Fighting Owls did all the heavy lifting in the bottom of the first, scoring 19 runs from five singles, two doubles and three home runs.
  • Zach Guth (7-0), Colby Lee and Briar Lauer silenced the Hagerstown hitters the rest of the way, giving up just one run off three hits to secure Harford a 19-2 blowout victory to complete the sweep.
  • The Fighting Owls offensive outburst followed a similar pattern to their meeting with Hagerstown back in 2015, when Harford dropped 15 runs in one inning as part of a 29-2 win.

Up Next
  • Harford heads to the road to take on Mercer County for a doubleheader on Sunday, April 8 at Noon.
  • The Fighting Owls swept the Vikings at home in a doubleheader back on February 25. Lou Testa's three home runs as well as solid outings from Frankie Fraschetti and Zach Guth elevated Harford to 14-0 and 7-5 victories.
