Harford Outshines Lazers in Essex

  • The Short Story: The Fighting Owls looked dominate in all aspects during their season opener, shutting out Onondaga 7-0 in Essex. Harford striker Rachel Bohli led the offense four goals on the day while the Fighting Owls defense allowed just one shot over the 90 minutes.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Rachel Bohli opened the scoring for the Fighting Owls in the twelfth minute to give Harford a 1-0 lead.
  • Maria Caipa would score her first collegiate goal midway through the first to give the Fighting Owls a 2-0 advantage heading into the half.
  • Harford would waste no time getting back into the goals in the second half, as Samantha DeCarlo tucked home her first goal as a Fighting Owl to bring the game to 3-0 in the 49th.
  • The next ten minutes proved to be the Rachel Bohli show, with the sophomore standout punishing the Onondaga goalkeeper three times to double Harford's lead.
  • Kasie Lambert's goal in the 70th minute sealed a 7-0 win for the ladies in blue, her first in a Harford uniform.
  • The Fighting Owls defense looked dominant all afternoon, allowing the Lazers just one shot with none testing Harford goalie Crystal Kline. On offense, the ladies in blue piled on 33 shots (21 on goal).
