North East, Md. – The Fighting Owls women's basketball team extended their dominant reign over the Maryland Junior College Conference Wednesday night, as they knocked off the Cecil Seahawks 99-34 on the road.
Harford owned the glass throughout the evening, outrebounding their I-95 rivals 69-28. Sophomore guard
Ayanna Mazyck led the charge with a career-high 19 boards while also contributing 13 points to earn herself a double-double.
Harford improves to 17-1 (7-0 Md Juco) with the win, while Cecil drops to 2-8 (1-5).
Turning Point
With a 26-point lead in hand, the Fighting Owls would dial up a 15-0 run to start the third quarter to put the game out of reach.
Janiece Loney's eight points led the way during the stretch, while Cecil went 0-for-6 as a team.
Games Notes
- Dahnye Redd led all scorers with 18 points while also grabbing 10 rebounds to notch her 18th straight double-double.
- Sophomore Elaija DeMeza secured the third Harford double-double on the night, tallying 16 points and 10 rebounds.
- Redshirt-Freshman Jennifer Hunt blocked a career-high three shots.
