New Rochelle, N.Y. – The Harford Fighting Owls suffered their first road defeat of 2019, falling to the Monroe College Mustangs 93-66 on Saturday.
Playing their second game in as many days, the Fighting Owls committed an uncharacteristic 29 turnovers in the loss. Coming into the contest, Harford had turned the ball over less than 16 times per game.
Harford drops to 10-6 with the loss while Monroe improves to 12-5.
Turning Point
Two Monroe offensive bursts heavily influenced the outcome of the game.
Leading 13-10 at 14:53 in the first half, Monroe went on to score 21 of the next 26 points over the next seven minutes to take a 34-16 lead. The Fighting Owls brought themselves back within 10 points of the lead early in the second, but another seven-minute offensive surge by the Mustangs put them out of Harford's reach for good.

- Devin Smith led the Fighting Owls with 18 points.
- Sophomore guard Khalil Williams-Diggins topped all players with eight rebounds.
- Isaiah Boggs led the team in steals (three) while also contributing nine points and seven rebounds to the cause.
- The men in blue are now 0-3 in the second game of a back-to-back this season, all three of which having been played away from home.
- Monroe's bench outscored Harford's reserves, 41-25.
