Fighting Owls Breeze Past CCP in Season Opener

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Harford freshman Jada Lake tallied 25 points and nine steals in her collegiate debut, as the Fighting Owls took care of the Community College of Philadelphia Lions, 106-32, in Tuesday night's season opener.

Head coach LaTanya Collins picked up her first win in charge of the Fighting Owls after being hired back in July. Collins and her crew wasted no time getting acclimated, as all eight Fighting Owls who saw the floor scored five points or more. Lake was one of five scorers for the ladies in blue to reach double digits in the scoring department.

Harford improves to 1-0 on the year, while CCP drops to 0-1.

Turning Point
After a slow start saw the Fighting Owls up by five after the opener quarter, Harford rolled off 31 points in the second to take a commanding 48-18 lead into the break. The Fighting Owls' defense fueled the stretch, earning seven steals for easy fast break buckets.

Harford carried over this blueprint into the third quarter, ripping 10 steals while outscoring the Lions 32-7.
