WASHINGTON,
D.
C. – Harford freshman
Kelvajha Foster dropped her sixth double-double of the season, leading the Fighting Owls to a 68-60 triumph over the Hostos Caimans, Friday night in the opening round of the Title IX D.C. Classic.
Despite being nine days removed from their last contest, Harford proved to be the better of the two teams through a tough first two quarters. The Fighting Owls struck a six-point lead after the opening 10 minutes, then increased it by a basket over the next two quarters to separate themselves from Hostos.
The ladies in blue remain in the winner's bracket after downing last year's NJCAA DIII National Champions in their first meeting with the Fighting Owls.
Harford moves to 12-1 on the year with the win, while Hostos drops to 9-5.
