Hagerstown, Md. – Harford head women's basketball coach Mike Seney earned his 80th win in a row against conference opposition, as the Fighting Owls stormed past the Frederick Cougars 105-50.
The win puts Harford into the Maryland Junior College Tournament finals for the fifth consecutive season under Seney. They are 4-0 in conference finals game with him at the helm.
Harford improves 28-1 with the win, while Frederick falls to 12-9.
How it Happened
Harford grabbed control of the game early, forcing the Cougars into 10 turnovers while scoring 32 points in the first quarter.
Dahnye Redd led the way with 12 points during the stretch, while
Jewel Porter chipped in six.
Frederick received some help from the officials early in the second, scoring eight of their first 17 points of the half from free throws to cut into the Fighting Owls lead. An enraged Harford fired back with 17 points of their own in the final 4:33 of the quarter to enter halftime ahead 56-30.
The Fighting Owls snuffed out any chance of a Cougar comeback in the final 20 minutes, outscoring Frederick 49-18. The Cougars turned the ball over an additional 18 times during this stretch.
Game Notes
- Ayanna Mazyck led all Fighting Owls with 25 points, 16 of which coming in the fourth quarter. The Harford guard also chipped in 10 rebounds, four assists and four steals.
- Dahnye Redd secured her 26th point/rebound double-double of the season (20 points, 10 rebounds).
- Shawkina Mulazim stuffed the box score with six points, nine rebounds, seven steals and five assists.
- Alexus King topped all players with six assists.
- All 11 Harford players scored at least three points.
- The Fighting Owls outrebounded Frederick 50-41.

The Fighting Owls and Panthers have met at the end of the tournament each of the last four seasons. Harford has won the last three conference postseason meetings between the two, including last year's 46-45 thriller.
