Allendale, S.C. – The Fighting Owls met up with USC Salkehatchie for the first of two doubleheaders on Saturday, falling to the Indians in both contests.
USC Salkehatchie 10 – Harford 2
Harford fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 10-2 loss to USC Salkehatchie in game one of the doubleheader.
Up 5-2 in the bottom of the fifth, the Indians scored five runs to end the game. Ally Hardee, Tiara Peters, and Haley Rawls each drove in runs during the inning.
Harford racked up eight hits, led by
Olivia Gallimore (3-for-3) and
Gabrielle Pfaff (2-for-3).
Kasey Williams (5 IP, 2 ER) was credited with the victory for USC Salkehatchie.
Sam Beeler (2 IP, 5 ER) took the loss.
USC Salkehatchie 10 – Harford 1
After a scoreless first inning, the Indians bombarded Harford with eight runs in the bottom of the second to put the game out of reach.
Erica James and
Olivia Gallimore both finished 2-for-3 at the plate, while
Jessica Miller and
Jenna House each notched a single in the loss.
Makayla Towne was credited with the victory for Salkehatchie. She went four innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out two and walking zero.
Jessica Miller (4 IP, 10 ER) was saddled with the loss.
