Harford's Season Comes to an End in Region 20 Semifinals

Bel Air, Md. – Harford had its season come to end Thursday night inside the APGFCU Arena, falling to Allegany 101-87. The Fighting Owls close out their season with a 16-12 record.

Despite Harford trailing Allegany for all but 66 second of the contest, the Fighting Owls made several runs at the Trojans in the both halves. A 9-0 Harford run led by Kevin Perry and Kenny Sumpter early in the second half brought Harford back within two points of the lead.

The Trojans recovered and pushed their lead up to 14 with seven minutes left to play, but Harford reeled off the game's next 10 points and forced a timeout from the Allegany bench. It's as close as the Fighting Owls would get for the rest of the contest, as the Trojans slowly built their lead back up while fending off the Harford attack to come away as the victors.

Harford struggled with stopping conference leading scorer Demarcus Demonia.  The Trojan guard scored 39 points and collected 20 rebounds, with 27 of his 39 coming in the second half. Antoine Lewis (22 points) and Davon Floyd (20 points) combined with Domonia to tally 81 of Allegany's 101 points on the evening.

Allegany, the No. 2 seed, now moves on to face No. 1 seed Baltimore City in Friday's Region XX Tournament Final. The Panthers downed No. 4 seed Hagerstown, 100-95, in an overtime thriller. The game will take place at Harford Community College, beginning at approximately 7:30 p.m.
