Bel Air, Md. – Matthew Shilling's sacrifice fly brought home
Edward Camp in the seventh inning, completing a 5-4 victory of UCONN Avery Point (UCAP). This is Harford's second walk-off win in its last five games.
Down 4-2 heading into the sixth,
Nolan Charlton would single home
Thomas Hojnacki to cut the deficit in half.
Mike Taylor shut down a potential Pointer rally in the seventh to give Harford a shot to win.
Jimmy Nixon came off the bench and forced a leadoff walk. He was quickly joined by
Jordyn Smith, who'd crush a pitch off the left field wall to put runners on second and third with no outs. UCAP intentionally walked
Reyce Curnane in order to have a force out at any bag, but a balk by Pointers' reliever Liam Milewski tied the game.
A second intentional walk to
Spencer Smith once again loaded the bases for the Fighting Owls. Shilling made them pay, sending Harford home with their ninth victory in the last 10 games.
Harford improves to 13-5 on the year. UCAP drops to 0-6.
