Charlotte, N.C. – For the first time in program history, the Harford Fighting Owls women's lacrosse team has earned the No. 1 spot in the weekly NJCAA Lacrosse Rankings.
The No. 1 ranking is the first for any sport in Harford's modern era of record keeping (2008-present). They also become the first Maryland program since 2012 to earn the honor, and the first junior college outside of Monroe Community College to be ranked first by the NJCAA since 2014.
After finishing as national runner-ups to Monroe last year, the Fighting Owls have stormed to a 4-0 record this season. Last week, they defeated the No. 3 Anne Arundel Riverhawks, 26-13, and No. 4 Onondaga Lazers, 19-14. They are averaging an NJCAA-leading 22 goals per game, while holding opponents to 10 goals per contest.
The Fighting Owls return to action on April 1 to face the Howard Dragons at home. Opening draw is set for 4 p.m. The game will be live streamed on
