Bel Air, Md. – Edward Camp and
Reyce Curnane busted through with a pair of RBI knocks in the seventh, which proved to be enough to move the Fighting Owls past the Prince George's Owls, 7-5, Tuesday evening at Harford Stadium.
Both teams relied on several methods to score, with ninevof the game's first 10 runs being plated by something other than a hit.
Matthew Shilling's RBI-single in the first stood out as the exception, sparking a three-run first for the Fighting Owls after they surrendered three to the other Owls in the top of the inning.
Spencer Harbert scored on a wild pitch in the third to give Harford a 4-3 lead, but two bases loaded walks put PG back on top after four. Shilling would come up big two innings later, forcing a bases loaded free pass of his own to knot the game at 5-5.
Camp and Curnane eventually handed the reigns over to Harford for good in the seventh, driving home two runs from two hits.
Ethan Kiple staggered the Prince George offense in the final two innings, striking out three of the game's final six batters to earn the save and extend the Fighting Owls win streak to seven games.
Harford improves to 17-5 (6-1 Md Juco) after the win. Prince George's drops to 6-6 (2-2 Md Juco) after the loss.
