11-Run Fifth Springs Harford Past Anne Arundel, 19-1

Winning Streak Extends to Eight Games

Bel Air, Md. – Harford collected 19 runs on 19 hits, as the Fighting Owls overwhelmed the Anne Arundel Riverhawks, 19-1, Thursday afternoon at "Skip" Brown Baseball Field.

The visiting Fighting Owls built their early advantage by plating two runs in each of the first four innings. Justin Brown's two-RBI triple marked the start of an 11-run fifth from the Harford offense. They marched 16 batters to the plate and tallied nine hits, including two home runs, before the third out was recorded.

Harford's pitching staff rendered the Riverhawks' offense harmless, allowing their Maryland Juco Conference rival just one run on four hits. Starting pitcher Matt Gorman (3 IP, 0 ER) picked up the win in the mercy rule shortened contest, improving to 3-0 on the season.
