Frederick, Md. –
Ajay Sczepkowski came off the bench to pinch run in the sixth, then drove home the winning run in the seventh, spurring on Harford's 10-7 comeback win over the Frederick Cougars in game two of Saturday's doubleheader.
Spencer Harbert and
Jordyn Smith kicked off the comeback in the sixth, punching through back-to-back doubles to reduce Frederick's lead to 6-3.
Lou Testa's RBI-groundout drove in another, but left Harford with just one out to work with in the inning. The Cougars, however extended Harford's inning by hitting
Jake Wyandt with a pitch, and
Reyce Curnane made them pay by blasting Harford's third double of the inning to left center to knot the game at 6-6.
Frederick regained the lead one last time in the sixth, putting Harford's nine-game win streak on the brink of extinction. Harford responded, plating another four runs in the seventh while holding the Cougars off in the bottom of the inning to claim their 20th victory of the year.
Harford improves to 20-5 (9-1 Md Juco) after the win. Frederick drops to 14-9.
