Hagerstown, Md. – Harford retuned to conference play on Wednesday, dropping game one of a doubleheader with the Hagerstown Hawks, 8-0.
The Fighting Owls struggled to drive in baserunners, leaving two on in the third and stranding one in the final two innings.
Hagerstown started the scoring in the third, plating five runs off six hits and one Harford error. A wild pitch allowed two runs to score in the fourth, and a sacrifice fly to right sealed the mercy rule victory for the Hawks in the fifth.
Harford dips to 1-27 on the year after the loss.
