Bel Air, Md. – Battling the weather and a late change of fields, Harford dropped a heartbreaking contest to the Brookdale Jersey Blues, 11-9, Friday evening at the Harford Sports Complex.
The Fighting Owls took over the game with three inside the park home runs, two of which came off the bats of
Gabrielle Pfaff and
Olivia Gallimore as a part of a six-run third inning. The third round tripper featured
Breanna Miller's three-RBI dart to center field in the fifth, which gave the Fighting Owls a 9-3 advantage.
Brookdale began their charge back in the top of the sixth, plating eight runs en route to an 11-9 lead. Jersey Blues' reliever Jessica Pszeniczny held the Fighting Owls' offense at bay from there, allowing just one hit in her three innings of work to earn the victory.
Harford drops to 3-27 after the loss, while Brookdale improves to 25-8.
