KEYSER. W.Va. – The Harford men's soccer team picked up its first win of 2019 over the weekend, defeating the Potomac State Catamounts, 4-1, Saturday afternoon at Stayman Field.
Freshman midfielder
Justin Draper scored the lone goal in the first half, driving home a chance 13 minutes into the contest to give Harford a 1-0 lead. The Fighting Owls continued to be the more aggressive side in the opening 45 minutes, but Catamount keeper Justin Barrett made four saves to keep Harford's lead at 1-0.
Harford proved to be more clinical in the second half, converting all three of their shots into goals. Draper struck first in the 57
th minute, then answered Potomac State's 79
th minute goals less than 60 seconds later to complete the hat trick. After a two-year hiatus away from soccer, Sophomore
Robel Bisrat's returned to score a goal 87
th minute that sealed the game for the Fighting Owls.
Harford moves to 1-1 on the year, while Potomac State falls to 1-2.
