DUNDALK, Md. – The Dundalk Lions hit 21 of their free throws compared to Harford's four, resulting in an 80-74 victory over the Fighting Owls, Wednesday night inside the CCBC-Dundalk gymnasium.
The discrepancy from the charity stripe cancelled an otherwise solid performance from three Fighting Owls.
Christian Sweazie led the way with 16 points and six assists, while
Joshua Foote also chipped in 16.
Rounding out the trio was
Ethan Sommer, who narrowly missed a double-double (15 points, nine rebounds).
Harford drops to 6-14 (2-4 MD JUCO) after the loss, while the Lions improve to 13-5 (5-1).
Turning Point
The final five minutes of the first was a brutal stretch for the Fighting Owls. Dundalk sped off to an 11-4 run to close out the opening half, knocking down 4-of-6 from the field. Harford scraped together just a 2-for-8 showing during this stretch, leaving the men in blue down 11 at break.
