BEL AIR, Md. – Harford's five extra base hits proved to be more than enough on Tuesday afternoon, as the Fighting Owls scorched Mercer County, 11-2.
A quick start highlighted by RBI-doubles from
Alex Barker and
Mason Hicks put the men in blue ahead 3-0.
Carter Heller (1-1) held Mercer County at bay from the mound, striking out seven Vikings in 5 2/3 innings to earn the win.
Barker (home run) and Hicks struck again in the sixth as a part of a four-run effort in the sixth to put the contest out of reach.
Harford improves to 4-2 with the win, while Mercer County tumbles to 2-1.
