Fighting Owls Walk-Off Lakers to Salvage Split

BEL AIR, Md. – After walking a season high nine batters in game one of its doubleheader with Garrett, Harford took game two via a walk-off free pass for a 3-2 victory over the Lakers.

A pair of hit batsman and a walk by Reyce Curnane put Ajay Sczepkowski up to bat with the bases loaded. Five pitches later and Jack Vignola was sent cruising home after yet another walk to put Harford over the top.

The Fighting Owl staff bounced back in game two and provided a firewall for Harford's sputtering offense. Starting pitcher Zane Grimes and reliever John Torres combined for nine strikeouts through six innings of work, while freshman arm Hunter Bell (1-0) secured the win after tossing a scoreless seventh following the Lakers' sac fly to tie the game.

Harford moves to 9-3 (3-1 MD JUCO) while Garrett falls to 5-4 (1-2).
