BEL AIR, Md. - Harford took on its first ranked NJCAA Division I opponent Saturday but came out on the wrong side of a 6-0 defeat at home.
The Fighting Owls were limited to just five shots, the first time they have been held under double digit shots for the game. Harford goalie
Becky Brittell saw 39 shots come her way, 20 of which came on target. The freshman made 14 saves over 90 minutes.
Although Monroe got out to an early lead and doubled it in the 24th, Harford would hang tough and keep the score at 2-0 until midway through the second half. The Tribunes finally broke through the Fighting Owls defense again late, scoring four goals in the final 11 minutes.
Harford is now 4-4-1 on the season.
