BEL AIR, Md. - A pair of wonder strikes saw Howard to a 2-0 victory over Harford, Tuesday afternoon inside Harford Stadium.
The Fighting Owls were limited to just a trio of shots on goal over 90 minutes. Howard managed to land 20 shots (nine of target), including an 18th minute free kick that soared just out of reach of Harford goalkeeper
Becky Brittell to give the Dragons a 1-0 lead. Another long ball in the 41st found the back of the net to double Howard's advantage before the break.
Neither team scored in the second half, with Howard doubling up Harford (10-5) in shots. A 75th minute shot from
Lexy Balsamo and an 85th minute chance by
Sarah Barnes were both stopped by Howard to keep the Dragons lead intact.
Harford is now 4-5-1 (2-2 MD JUCO) after the defeat.
