WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – The Fighting Owls relied on a pair of big innings to take a 9-6 victory over Mercer County on Wednesday.
Narrowly ahead 3-2 after five, Harford struck for three runs in the sixth and seventh to take a convincing 9-2 lead. The offensive charge was kickstarted by back-to-back RBI-doubles from
Ajay Sczepkowski and
Andrew Sicinski in the sixth.
Mercer County challenged the Fighting Owls late, plating three runs before recording an out in the third.
Hunter Bell (S, 2) stepped up and put a stop to the bleeding, retiring the next three batters while allowing just one unearned run to end the game.
Harford is now 11-1-1 with the win, while Mercer County drops to 5-3.
