BEL AIR, Md. – Harford earned its fourth 10-run rule victory in five games, defeating CCBC-Essex 11-1 in five innings in game one of Sunday's doubleheader inside the Harford Sports Complex.
Fighting Owls starter
Carter Heller (1-0) was electric from the mound, striking out 10 batters through five innings to earn the win. Through 19 batters faced, he allowed just four hits and one run.
Eight Harford batters chipped in one hit each in the victory.
Hunter Blair collected the only extra base knock: a two-run homer in the second to put Harford ahead 3-1.
Timely hitting from
Reece Jean-Guillaume,
Tyler Blittersdorf and
Ty Kwiatkoski gave Harford a combined eight runs over the third and fourth. Kwiatkoski's single actually scored a trio of Fighting Owls after a fielding error on the Knights left fielder allowed two more runs to cross.
Harford bumps up to 5-0 (5-0 MD JUCO) with the victory, while Essex tumbles to 0-2 (0-2 MD JUCO).
