BEL AIR, Md. – The Fighting Owls rebounded from their game one defeat on Thursday, taking Frederick down, 16-5, to salvage a split with the Cougars.
Braydon Parr led Harford on offense, finished a double short of the cycle. The redshirt sophomore tripled in the first, singled in the fourth, then finished off the game with a mercy rule walk-off home run in the bottom of the sixth.
Brelon Harden also had a solid day at the dish, finishing with three hits, three RBI and two runs.
Nick Hohenstein (2-1) picked up the win, striking out seven batters while allowing just three hits and one unearned run in four innings.
The Fighting Owls started fast and never looked back in game two, scoring nine runs in the bottom of the first to take a 9-1 lead. After putting the Cougars on the brink with a 12-1 lead in the fifth, Frederick managed to battle back and stay alive with four runs.
One inning later and Harford ended things for good, scoring four runs in the bottom of the sixth to pick up the victory.
The Fighting Owls are now 16-7-1 (12-4 MD JUCO) after the victory.
